Over 3,000 animals and as many as 250 different species – all this on an area of 800,000 m2 in the heart of the Canary Islands!
Oasis Park Fuerteventura is a zoo and botanical garden located in La Lajita in the south of Fuerteventura. Its interior can be compared to an exotic jungle inhabited by various species of animals from different parts of the globe. There is no other place in the entire Canary Islands where you will meet African elephants or hippos. And there is no other zoo in which you can admire some parts of the garden while riding a camel!
GOOD TO KNOW: The Oasis Park in Fuerteventura is home to the largest dromedary camel sanctuary in Europe.
Visiting Oasis Park in Fuerteventura
I recommend spending a whole day or at least a few hours in the park. This will allow you to visit the park in peace and take part in numerous shows offered here. One of the most interesting ones is a sea lion show.
Pet a giraffe, feed a lama or take a selfie with a lemur – many species of animals which live here are used to the presence of humans and are keen on getting close to them. The youngest visitors will surely be delighted with the mini zoo, where they can see among others goats, ostriches, ponies, guinea pigs, rabbits and even turtles.
Oasis Park in Fuerteventura has also a botanical garden with over 1,500 species of plants from around the world. This part of the park covers as much as 250,000 m2, which is an additional encouragement to visit it. There is plenty to see here!
