Get there at opening time and the fastest slides have almost no queue. Turn up at noon in August and youโll spend more time on the stairs than in the water.
Aqualand El Arenal sits on the edge of SโArenal, at the eastern end of the Bay of Palma, and it bills itself as the biggest water park in Mallorca. It has around 20 attractions, from steep speed slides and racing slides to a wave pool, a lazy river and four childrenโs areas. If youโre planning a day at Aqualand Mallorca, this is the park most people mean. Youโll also see it called Aqualand Arenal or Aqualand SโArenal, and many British travellers know it as Aqualand Majorca.
In this guide youโll find the best slides for thrill-seekers and for small children, the season and opening hours, how to get there from Palma, Playa de Palma and Magaluf, and where to stay nearby. If youโre still choosing a waterpark, our guide to water parks in Mallorca compares all of them.

Where is Aqualand El Arenal?
Aqualand El Arenal is located just outside the resort of El Arenal (SโArenal in Catalan), in the municipality of Llucmajor, about 12 km south-east of Palma de Mallorca. The park is next to the Palma to Arenal motorway, at exit 13, so itโs easy to reach by car or bus. Playa de Palma, the long beach that runs from Can Pastilla to El Arenal, is a short ride away.
One common mix-up: Aqualand is not in Magaluf or Palmanova. Those resorts are on the other side of the bay, and the water park there is Western Water Park. From Magaluf, Aqualand El Arenal is about half an hourโs drive away.
What makes Aqualand Mallorca different?
Aqualand Mallorca is part of the Aqualand chain run by the Spanish group Aspro, which operates water parks across Spain. The El Arenal park is often described as the largest water park in Majorca, and itโs laid out across different areas: an adrenaline zone with the tallest slides, family rides, a relax zone and separate childrenโs areas.
Itโs also close to the main hotel strip of Playa de Palma, which makes it the easiest water park to visit if youโre staying in El Arenal, Can Pastilla or Palma.
The best water slides at Aqualand El Arenal
The adrenaline area has the steepest and fastest slides in the park. Head here first, as queues build quickly from late morning in July and August.
King Cobra
King Cobra is the slide everyone photographs. Its tower is painted to look like a giant cobra, and you ride it on a ring through a half-pipe, swinging high up the walls. It opened in 2015 and is still one of the most popular water slides at Aqualand.

Tsunami
Tsunami opened in 2018 and is another half-pipe ride on a ring. You drop into a giant curved wall, shoot up one side and slide back down. It looks gentle from below, but the moment at the top, when you feel almost weightless, takes most riders by surprise.
Kukulcรกn and Hurakรกn
Kukulcรกn and Hurakรกn are the newest slides at Aqualand El Arenal, opened for the 2026 season. They add even more variety for older kids and adults. If youโve been before, these are the two rides to try first on your next visit.
Banzai, Bรกalam and the speed slides
Banzai is a steep speed slide where you shoot down on a foam board and skim across the water at the end. Bรกalam is a body speed slide, and itโs not for the faint-hearted. The Anaconda slides are body slides, while Misol-ha and Tukakame are tube rides with plenty of twists. They suit anyone who wants thrills without a near-vertical drop.
Crazy Race and the multi-lane slides
Crazy Race is a racing slide where up to four people go side by side to see who reaches the pool first. The multi-lane slide works the same way on mats. Theyโre the most fun rides for families with older kids, and the queues usually move fast.
Wave pool, Congo River and the relax area
Not every hour at Aqualand needs to be spent on a slide. The wave pool sends sets of waves across a big pool, and itโs where most families end up in the afternoon. The Congo River is a lazy river where you float on a ring through green surroundings.

The relax area, Lakchaac, has a large jacuzzi and spaces to sit and switch off. Itโs the best spot for grandparents and anyone who wants a quiet day while the kids queue for the big slides. Rings for the slides are included with admission.
Aqualand for kids and small children
Aqualand El Arenal has four childrenโs areas. Each has its own pool, small slides and splash features, with lifeguards on duty across the park.

- Dragoland - a dragon-themed area with shallow water and gentle slides for the smallest children.
- Polynesia - a Pacific island-style zone full of small slides and pools.
- Adventureland - a water playground for kids who want a bit more action.
Children up to two years old go free. Height limits apply on many slides, and staff check them at the start of each ride, so it helps to know how tall your kids are before you arrive.
Aqualand El Arenal opening hours and season
Aqualand El Arenal is a summer water park. The season usually runs from early May to the end of September, and in some years into early October. In 2026 the park opened on 4 May.
The park usually opens at 10am. It closes at 5pm in May, June and September, and at 6pm in July and August, but times change by season. The slides close about 15 minutes before the park does.
The quietest days are weekdays in May, June and September. In July and August, arrive before opening, head to the adrenaline area first and save the wave pool and the Congo River for the afternoon.
How to get to Aqualand El Arenal
You have several easy options, whether youโre staying on Playa de Palma, in Palma or elsewhere on the island.
By car
Take the Palma to Arenal motorway (Ma-19) and leave at exit 13, at km 15. Thereโs a large car park outside the entrance. The drive from central Palma takes around 20 minutes, and from Magaluf or Palmanova about half an hour, traffic allowing. A hire car is the most flexible option if youโre staying outside the Bay of Palma.
By bus from Palma
EMT bus line 23 runs from Palma and stops opposite the Aqualand car park. Itโs the simplest option if youโre staying in the city. Thereโs also a free bus from the El Arenal and Playa de Palma area, and stops change by season, so ask at your hotel reception.
Excursions with a transfer
From resorts further away, such as Alcรบdia or Cala Millor, the easiest way is an organised excursion that includes the bus and the entrance ticket. The journey from the north of the island takes around an hour each way, and youโll usually get about five hours in the park.
Aqualand tickets and fast pass
There are several ticket options: a day ticket for a fixed date, a flexible ticket, family packs and tickets with a bus included. Booking online lets you pick your date in advance, and online tickets often come with priority entrance, so you skip the ticket queue at the gate.
The Fast Pass is an extra that lets you skip the standard queue on the main slides. Itโs worth paying extra in July and August, when waits for King Cobra and the new slides can be long. On a quiet day in June or September, you can usually manage without it.
Food, lockers and what to bring
There are around eight places to eat in the park, mostly fast food such as pizza, burgers, hot dogs and baguettes, plus ice creams and cold drinks. Lockers, sunbeds in some areas and photos cost extra.
Pack swimwear, a towel, high-factor sun cream, a hat and a waterproof pouch for your mobile phone. Sandals or water shoes help on the hot paving. If you have small children, bring a rash vest and arrive early to find a shady spot near the childrenโs areas.
How much time do you need at Aqualand?
Plan a full day, as Aqualand makes a great day out for the whole family. Most families arrive at opening time and stay until the park closes in the late afternoon. With older kids you can ride every big slide in three or four hours, but the wave pool, the lazy river and the childrenโs areas easily fill the rest of the day.
Aqualand El Arenal or Western Water Park?
Both are good water parks, and the best choice usually depends on where youโre staying. Aqualand El Arenal is closer to Palma, Playa de Palma and the airport, and has four separate childrenโs areas. Western Water Park, near Magaluf, has a Wild West theme and suits families staying in the south-west of the island.
If your family loves animals as well as slides, combine Aqualand with Palma Aquarium, which is also on Playa de Palma. And if youโre comparing parks across the country, our list of the best water parks in Spain puts Aqualand next to Siam Park and the rest.
